But Is It Good? Series Part 1: Delish's Cranberry Brie Bites

Everyone has seen those Delish recipes floating all over the internet but has anyone ACTUALLY tried them? For a while I have always been curious as to whether their food actually taste as good as they look. So once in a while on the blog I will share a Delish recipe that has caught my eye, test it out, and rate it. I'm gonna give yall the REAL TEA! The first recipe that caught my eye were these cranberry brie bites.
Check out the video below and then keep reading...

So after viewing their video, I had my mind set on making these and I surely did! Here are some photos of mine.

Mind you, I have NEVER tried brie cheese up to this point; but, I was so excited because apparently, brie cheese is all the rage!!

Let me TELL YOU! Brie cheese is absolutely disgusting. When I tell you I almost gagged...! Omg! I seriously do not see why this cheese is so popular. It's so nasty... but then again, blue cheese is pretty popular and that cheese is nasty to me too. I thought it was just me so I let the family taste the bites as well... and nope! No one liked the cheese. If you have never tried brie it tastes like old, stale nuts and mushrooms. It's so bizarre. Literally, I have NEVER tasted a cheese that tasted like mushrooms. And the crazy thing is, is that I actually like mushrooms!! Brie is also very strong in flavor. It is not mild at all. It is pretty intense. I guess it's an acquired taste.

I knew this dish had potential so I made another batch (which I did not get pictures of) using the only other cheese we had around the house... cream cheese. And guess what? It was AMAZING! The combination of the cream cheese with the cranberry sauce was magnificent! The saltiness of the pecans mixed with the subtle hint of rosemary made the dish even better.

My final results.

Would I recommend? YES
This dish gets 5 stars from me... as long as the brie is swapped out for another cheese. If you like brie then you will absolutely love this dish the way it is. I plan on trying this again with gouda cheese. I love gouda and believe it would be a hit!

By the way, what I love most about this dish is that it bakes quickly. Within minutes these bites are finished, which makes them the perfect Thanksgiving or Christmas appetizer.

With that... I have a couple of questions for you all.

Have you ever tried brie cheese and what are your thoughts on it?

What dish would you like for me to try out next? You can link it in the comments or my Facebook page:

Thank you for visiting the blog. If you made it to the end of this post then drop me some comments. Don't be afraid. I love hearing from you all.

Christmas posts will be up soon...

Easy Apple Pie Cocktail (Only 2 Ingredients!)

With Thanksgiving just days away, I'm sure there's a few of you who may need a quick and easy cocktail for all of your guests to enjoy. Try this apple pie cocktail that only requires TWO ingredients! Personally, I prefer this cocktail with more apple juice than fireball but feel free to change up the measurements to your liking. It's really the combination of the two drinks that's fireee (tasty).

6oz Apple Juice

2 oz of Fireball
Optional Apple Slice

What's your go-to holiday drink?

Big & Sexy Effortless Curls: The Curling Iron I Use

So lately I have been able to achieve these BOMB, AMAZING, Victoria Secret-esque curls by using the Rowenta Curl Active 1.25" Black Curling Iron. My dad purchased this curling iron back when it was "deal of the day" at best buy, probably about a year ago, but it's still available for purchase.  The crazy thing about this curling iron is that it actually has a barrel that spins automatically when you press the button. I've tried it before and it really works; however, I like being in control when it comes to curling my hair so I don't utilize that option. I curl towards my face instead of away and it just looks so amazing and effortless every time!

Halloween Treats: Band-Aids and Q-Tips

There's nothing like eating good ol bloody bandaids and waxy Q-tips... as long as they're made out of graham crackers, marshmallows, and frosting. These treats are prefect to make ahead of time for a halloween party or just to make with your children. Jacob (my nephew) thought the bandaids were hilarious! After he laughed at them, he ate them... all. I literally didn't get to try one but if they are kid approved then they must be good!

For the bloody bandaids you will need:
Graham crackers
Marshmallow Creme
Red Icing

Break up the graham crackers and set aside.

Using a butter knife, apply marshmallow creme onto each graham cracker piece in the shape of a square.

Now to make your bandaids bloody simply place a dot of red frosting over the marshmallow creme. Then use a tooth pick to swirl the frosting around.
That's it! So fast and easy! And awesome for halloween!

For a bonus treat, I dipped left over tooth picks in marshmallow creme, added a mini marshmallow at each end, and dipped the marshmallows in peanut butter for...waxy used Q-tips!!!! hahaha! It's so gross yet delicious all at the same time.

Wow! I can't believe it's already October and I REALLY can't believe I haven't done a POTW (Pictures of the Week) post in about 3 years. I've been so busy prepping for our family Christmas party... yes, CHRISTMAS party. If you aren't familiar with our Christmas parties, check the tab CummingsChristmasParty on the left side of the blog. Anyway, just because I'm prepping for Christmas doesn't mean I still can't enjoy the fall season. Over the past couple of weeks I have managed to put together my fall tray and come up with the most AMAZING pumpkin spiced latte (recipe) EVER. Like... not to toot my own horn or anything BUT my pumpkin latte is way better than Starbucks. Yup, you heard that right. And guess what? I drink my own pumpkin latte almost everyday. Everyone loves to ask for my recipes but the thing is, I usually don't measure anything. I just experiment until it tastes good. However, I will try to come up with measurements to post because it is too darn good to not share. It tastes like a legit pumpkin pie. Yum yum yum!
In this POTW you will see a ton of candles... because it's not fall if you aren't burning multiple candles, my fall tray, and coooookies!

Do you decorate for fall?

Fair Days Are The Best Days

One of my favorite fall activities is going to the fair. Not for the rides, I couldn't care less about the rides... and quite frankly I don't trust them! I like the fair for the food, the fresh air, the smells, the music... not to mention the cute baby pigs! Last Sunday we went to the fair and I meant to post these pictures that night but I fell asleep pretty early. I've been so tired ever since I landed my 2nd (& big girl) job! Yep, I'm a counselor!
Anyway, I decided I would just post the few pictures I did take today. Enjoy!

There's probably only two rides I really trust for Jacob to get on and this year... he was NOT having it. He was spooked and shook! It was weird because the last time he was at the fair he couldn't get enough of the rides. He even rode a rollercoaster!
Look at the picture below.
He only got on this one ride and was freaking out. He kept looking around waiting for someone to save him.
This right here...  is the face of regret. lol

Below is Kayla and Jacob watching a guy rock climb. I love rock climbing, what about you?

Because I didn't get a lot of footage from the fair this year, I figured I would share clips from last year's fair as well. I captured some really cute moments of Jacob enjoying the rides as well as the goats and pigs.

What is your favorite fair treat? I think fried oreos might be my new favorite. I'm going to try to recreate them at home.

Drop some comments. I love interacting with you all.

Today I made Puppy Chow and let me tell you...! It's dangerously delicious! It is not humanly possible to eat just a few. You will eat one and then two and then next thing you know the whole bowl is gone! Puppy chow is great all year long but I wanted to make it today to kick off the fall season.

If you want to know how to make this tasty treat then keep on reading!
