I can not believe this year is almost over. Wow, it seems like the years go by faster and faster. Where does the time go? One thing I do like about this time of year is that I can sit back and reflect. I love making new year's resolutions, I do it every year. I always feel like a new person by January 1st. It's the start of a new year and new beginnings.
Today, I will be sharing 5 of my new year's resolutions. I have managed to accomplish a lot of my previous resolutions so hopefully I can do the same this new year.
First of all l would like to thank everyone who pitched in and helped out. We couldn't have done it without you. It's always a celebration when family and friends come together but there is no celebration like Christmas with family and friends. We enjoyed you all and we can't wait to see y'all next year!!!
Today was the perfect day for some hot cocoa. It was only 49 degrees and raining. By using the crock pot you can have hot chocolate all day long without remaking it. Plus homemade hot chocolate is way better than the packaged ones. Here's the recipe that I used today. It's very rich but if you're going to drink hot chocolate you might as well go all out.
My niece Kayla and I have started our own tradition a few years ago. We have to make hot chocolate, popcorn, and watch the Polar Express at least once during the holiday season. Since I have a small tradition with her, I wanted to start one with my nephew Jacob. There's no tradition better than 'the elf on the shelf'. When you order 'the elf of the shelf' you will receive a book and an elf. The book explains everything your family needs to know about the elf. To sum it up for you, the elf is watching the children to see if they're being naughty or nice. Each night the elf will fly back to the North Pole to tell Santa how the children have been for the day. Then the elf will fly back to your house by the next day but will be in a different spot. Your job is to find him and who knows... he might come back with gifts, treats, or a message. Oh and by the way, you have to name your elf. I let Jacob name him. Also, you cannot touch him or he will lose his magic. I will keep you all posted on how Jacob likes his elf. I think this will end up being a great tradition. I purchased this kit from Amazon but you can literally find it in any store. Michaels, Walmart, etc.
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. No one farted this year but we still had a good time. I snapped a few pictures to post. Can we just take a moment to appreciate how good this turkey looks. Yass Hunty.
What's your favorite thing to eat on Thanksgiving? I would say fried turkey and macaroni and cheese.
Now that Thanksgiving is over I will be making an effort to blog more for the holidays.... be on the lookout for new posts coming THIS WEEK.
Nothing says fall like a nice hot cup of apple cider. Apple cider is slowly becoming my new favorite beverage. I'm drinking it more than coffee at the moment... yeah... crazy right? I'm going share with you three tips on how to amp your cider up to the next level.
Rim your glass with condensed milk then cover it with crushed graham crackers.
(If you don't already) Add one whole orange to your basic apple cider recipe.
Top your apple cider with vanilla ice cream AND whipped cream.
Follow these steps and I guarantee your apple cider will taste 100 times better.
On October 1st Kim and Alvin were joined together in holy matrimony . The wedding was at Kim's mother's bed and breakfast. It was a very nice venue and the food was great, especially the appetizers. The wedding was small and intimate and you could definitely feel the love. Congratulations to you both!
This tray is perfect for a coffee table or to place on top of a dresser. I got a $5 tray from Michaels and painted it brown. I then tied a piece of twine around it. I added fake leaves, a pumpkin, pinecones, and cinnamon sticks for a nice aesthetic. That vase was something I already owned and just filled it up with popcorn kernels. The orange flower sticks were purchased last year from the dollar store. Make your own tray for the fall, it'll give your table so much character!
Last Thursday we celebrated my dad's 50th birthday but I've been so busy with school that I haven't had a chance to post about it. Mom made us all crab legs, shrimp, crab cakes, and corn. Kayla and I decorated with balloons, streamers, and pictures. Jacob loves birthdays so much, it doesn't even have to be his! Balloons and Cake... what more could a boy ask for?!
I had seen this gif online earlier and I thought it was pretty cool but kinda creepy. It's one of those photos that creeps me out but I can't stop looking at it. Who knew owls had 3 eyelids?! They have a top, bottom, and side eyelid. The side eyelid is called the nictitating membrane. The purpose of the side eyelid is to protect the eye and keep the surface clean. When the top eyelid closes that means the owl is blinking. When the bottom eyelid closes the owl is sleeping.

Summer is great but it can get disgustingly hot. There is nothing more uncomfortable than to be in 90 degree weather with nothing to do. Here are five ways to beat the heat all summer long while having fun!
1. Find a pool! There's nothing better than to splash in a pool full of nice cool water on a hot summer's day.
2. Water Fight!!!!!! Gather all of your friends for a giant water fight. It's a chance to interact with other people and cool off at the same time.
3. Trampoline! If you have a trampoline, jump on it while the sprinklers are facing you.... you'll thank me later.
4.Frozen Goods!!!! Indulge in some frozen treats this summer such as ice cream or frozen yogurt.
5.DRINK WATER! Keep hydrated all summer long by drinking plenty of ice water.
Jacob's giving face y'all. This is his model look.
I am on a roll!!! I love experimenting and making new drinks. This first drink is a Snickers Milkshake. A few big scoops of vanilla ice cream, half a cup of milk, 3 pieces of snickers (mini), and a tablespoon of chocolate syrup all blended together. It's really rich and decadent but oh so delicious. Beware: your kids just may get a sugar high.
I have been on a cooking spree lately. I'm really digging it! I find it to be kind of relaxing when I'm in the kitchen just making something on my own, not being bothered. I'm going to start posting a lot more food pictures so be on the look out!
Chef Miracle is here to stay and slay... your kitchen!!!!
Here's a few dishes I've made recently:
Loaded Potato Soup
Recipe on the blog
Pineapple bowls filled with sweet and sour chicken and rice.
I also made shrimp and zucchini as side dishes
I also made ribs, glazed carrots, and shaved brussels sprouts. (not shown) What should I make next? Leave me a comment below!!!
-1st ingredient should be Milk Active Cultured -Choose plain unsweetened (Sweeten it yourself if desired) -No more than 18 grams of sugar -Full Fat -Minimum of 12 grams of protein, Ideally 18 grams of protein
It's hard being Jacob. He is constantly surrounded by women. His grandma won't stop kissing him, his aunt is always making him do videos for Snapchat, and his sister loves bossing him around. These things along with being a 2nd grader and one of the most popular kids in school is hard work and super stressful. So what keeps Jacob from losing all sanity? MEDITATION!
I love making baskets for people and customizing it to their liking. This year I wanted to make a basket for Jacob that he'll go crazy over. I tried to incorporate everything he likes all into one basket. The key to a good Easter basket or a basket in general without breaking the bank is to a.) shop year round and b.) shop all things clearance/sale.
Where to shop for Easter basket goodies: Walmart Target (Dollar Section) Toys-R-Us (Clearance racks and 1, 3, 5 dollar section) Marshalls Dollar Store Dollar General Michaels (Dollar Bins) Party City
Book Genre: Teen Fiction Cold calls is a 'chilling thriller, an unsettling mystery, and a provocative exploration of bulling, culpability, and the cost of keeping secrets'. The story is about three teenagers (Eric, Shelly, and Fatima) being blackmailed into bulling certain students from school. If they didn't do the tasks the blackmailer told them to do, their darkestsecrets would be revealed! I thought the book was pretty good. If you like Pretty Little Liars then you would enjoy this book. It wasn't as crazy as I thought it would be but it also wasn't as predictable either. Overall I would recommend this book to young adults and high schoolers. What are you currently reading? Any book recommendations? Leave me a comment below!
Here are 5 tips that will help your selfies go from "Ooh Chile, What in the world?!" to "Yaasss! She better WERK!"
Find your best angle. Everyone has a good side... so find it. Is it the left side of your face or the right? Maybe you look better with the camera pointing directly down on you. Finding your good side is key.
Find the right lighting. For a darker look, have your lighting behind you. This lighting gives your picture a more mysterious feel to it.
