From what I hear, Coquito is like a Puerto Rican version of eggnog and it's super popular. I am not Puerto Rican so correct me if I'm wrong but apparently this is THE drink to drink around the holidays (esp. in Puerto Rico). I have been seeing this drink so many times on the internet and have been so curious to try it. Well, I tried it today. Before, I state my opinion, I would just like to say that I do not like eggnog. Every year, I take a sip in hopes that I will start to like it... but NOPE! (issa no for me dawg) However, I actually like Coquito. It reminds me a lot of RumChata. It is very sweet, so a little goes a long way (for me anyway) but I could definitely drink this again. I do have a question though, there seems to be a debate on whether the original recipe of Coquito contains eggs or not. So my question is, does real Coquito have eggs in it?
Here is the recipe that I found:
1 can of coconut milk
1 can of creme of coconut
1 can of evaporated milk
1 can of condensed milk
1 tsp of vanilla extract
Cinnamon (to taste)
Bacardi Rum (as much as you want)
Nutmeg (to taste)
Mix EVERYTHING in a blender.
Have you ever tried Coquito? What is your favorite holiday drink?
Looks yummy!
