But Is It Good? Series Part 1: Delish's Cranberry Brie Bites

Everyone has seen those Delish recipes floating all over the internet but has anyone ACTUALLY tried them? For a while I have always been curious as to whether their food actually taste as good as they look. So once in a while on the blog I will share a Delish recipe that has caught my eye, test it out, and rate it. I'm gonna give yall the REAL TEA! The first recipe that caught my eye were these cranberry brie bites.
Check out the video below and then keep reading...

So after viewing their video, I had my mind set on making these and I surely did! Here are some photos of mine.

Mind you, I have NEVER tried brie cheese up to this point; but, I was so excited because apparently, brie cheese is all the rage!!

Let me TELL YOU! Brie cheese is absolutely disgusting. When I tell you I almost gagged...! Omg! I seriously do not see why this cheese is so popular. It's so nasty... but then again, blue cheese is pretty popular and that cheese is nasty to me too. I thought it was just me so I let the family taste the bites as well... and nope! No one liked the cheese. If you have never tried brie it tastes like old, stale nuts and mushrooms. It's so bizarre. Literally, I have NEVER tasted a cheese that tasted like mushrooms. And the crazy thing is, is that I actually like mushrooms!! Brie is also very strong in flavor. It is not mild at all. It is pretty intense. I guess it's an acquired taste.

I knew this dish had potential so I made another batch (which I did not get pictures of) using the only other cheese we had around the house... cream cheese. And guess what? It was AMAZING! The combination of the cream cheese with the cranberry sauce was magnificent! The saltiness of the pecans mixed with the subtle hint of rosemary made the dish even better.

My final results.

Would I recommend? YES
This dish gets 5 stars from me... as long as the brie is swapped out for another cheese. If you like brie then you will absolutely love this dish the way it is. I plan on trying this again with gouda cheese. I love gouda and believe it would be a hit!

By the way, what I love most about this dish is that it bakes quickly. Within minutes these bites are finished, which makes them the perfect Thanksgiving or Christmas appetizer.

With that... I have a couple of questions for you all.

Have you ever tried brie cheese and what are your thoughts on it?

What dish would you like for me to try out next? You can link it in the comments or my Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/itsmiraclewhip/

Thank you for visiting the blog. If you made it to the end of this post then drop me some comments. Don't be afraid. I love hearing from you all.

Christmas posts will be up soon...

Easy Apple Pie Cocktail (Only 2 Ingredients!)

With Thanksgiving just days away, I'm sure there's a few of you who may need a quick and easy cocktail for all of your guests to enjoy. Try this apple pie cocktail that only requires TWO ingredients! Personally, I prefer this cocktail with more apple juice than fireball but feel free to change up the measurements to your liking. It's really the combination of the two drinks that's fireee (tasty).

6oz Apple Juice

2 oz of Fireball
Optional Apple Slice

Big & Sexy Effortless Curls: The Curling Iron I Use

So lately I have been able to achieve these BOMB, AMAZING, Victoria Secret-esque curls by using the Rowenta Curl Active 1.25" Black Curling Iron. My dad purchased this curling iron back when it was "deal of the day" at best buy, probably about a year ago, but it's still available for purchase.  The crazy thing about this curling iron is that it actually has a barrel that spins automatically when you press the button. I've tried it before and it really works; however, I like being in control when it comes to curling my hair so I don't utilize that option. I curl towards my face instead of away and it just looks so amazing and effortless every time!

What's your favorite hair tool or beauty product at the moment?

Halloween Treats: Band-Aids and Q-Tips

There's nothing like eating good ol bloody bandaids and waxy Q-tips... as long as they're made out of graham crackers, marshmallows, and frosting. These treats are prefect to make ahead of time for a halloween party or just to make with your children. Jacob (my nephew) thought the bandaids were hilarious! After he laughed at them, he ate them... all. I literally didn't get to try one but if they are kid approved then they must be good!

For the bloody bandaids you will need:
Graham crackers
Marshmallow Creme
Red Icing

Break up the graham crackers and set aside.

Using a butter knife, apply marshmallow creme onto each graham cracker piece in the shape of a square.

Now to make your bandaids bloody simply place a dot of red frosting over the marshmallow creme. Then use a tooth pick to swirl the frosting around.
That's it! So fast and easy! And awesome for halloween!

For a bonus treat, I dipped left over tooth picks in marshmallow creme, added a mini marshmallow at each end, and dipped the marshmallows in peanut butter for...waxy used Q-tips!!!! hahaha! It's so gross yet delicious all at the same time.

POTW: IT'S OCTOBERRRRRR!!!!!

Wow! I can't believe it's already October and I REALLY can't believe I haven't done a POTW (Pictures of the Week) post in about 3 years. I've been so busy prepping for our family Christmas party... yes, CHRISTMAS party. If you aren't familiar with our Christmas parties, check the tab CummingsChristmasParty on the left side of the blog. Anyway, just because I'm prepping for Christmas doesn't mean I still can't enjoy the fall season. Over the past couple of weeks I have managed to put together my fall tray and come up with the most AMAZING pumpkin spiced latte (recipe) EVER. Like... not to toot my own horn or anything BUT my pumpkin latte is way better than Starbucks. Yup, you heard that right. And guess what? I drink my own pumpkin latte almost everyday. Everyone loves to ask for my recipes but the thing is, I usually don't measure anything. I just experiment until it tastes good. However, I will try to come up with measurements to post because it is too darn good to not share. It tastes like a legit pumpkin pie. Yum yum yum!
In this POTW you will see a ton of candles... because it's not fall if you aren't burning multiple candles, my fall tray, and coooookies!

Do you decorate for fall?

Fair Days Are The Best Days

One of my favorite fall activities is going to the fair. Not for the rides, I couldn't care less about the rides... and quite frankly I don't trust them! I like the fair for the food, the fresh air, the smells, the music... not to mention the cute baby pigs! Last Sunday we went to the fair and I meant to post these pictures that night but I fell asleep pretty early. I've been so tired ever since I landed my 2nd (& big girl) job! Yep, I'm a counselor!
Anyway, I decided I would just post the few pictures I did take today. Enjoy!

There's probably only two rides I really trust for Jacob to get on and this year... he was NOT having it. He was spooked and shook! It was weird because the last time he was at the fair he couldn't get enough of the rides. He even rode a rollercoaster!
Look at the picture below.
He only got on this one ride and was freaking out. He kept looking around waiting for someone to save him.
This right here...  is the face of regret. lol

Below is Kayla and Jacob watching a guy rock climb. I love rock climbing, what about you?

Because I didn't get a lot of footage from the fair this year, I figured I would share clips from last year's fair as well. I captured some really cute moments of Jacob enjoying the rides as well as the goats and pigs.

What is your favorite fair treat? I think fried oreos might be my new favorite. I'm going to try to recreate them at home.

Drop some comments. I love interacting with you all.

Today I made Puppy Chow and let me tell you...! It's dangerously delicious! It is not humanly possible to eat just a few. You will eat one and then two and then next thing you know the whole bowl is gone! Puppy chow is great all year long but I wanted to make it today to kick off the fall season.

If you want to know how to make this tasty treat then keep on reading!

Slime Fail

If you need a fun activity for children this summer, try making slime... the right way. Jacob and I tried to make slime sometime last year and it was a total fail. It came out super runny and not fluffy at all. Turns out, I used the wrong kind of shaving cream but he still loved it.

Check out Michaels website for a ton of cool slime recipes:

Have you ever tried making slime? Also, what have you tried making that ended up being a total fail! Comment below!

The END of itsmiraclewhip.com???! (UPDATE)

Hey y'all! I know a lot of you have probably been wondering where I've been or why I haven't been posting as much as I used to. I started off the year pretty well, stats were up and collaboration emails were pouring in... and then I disappeared.

So around the end of February I became extremely busy. I was finishing up my Masters, interning at a local pregnancy center, and working. Whenever I would actually try to blog something, I never liked it enough to actually post it. After a while I just felt completely uninspired and neglected the blog all together. Recently, I thought about how my blog used to be... during its earlier years and how much fun it was. I posted random things that I enjoyed and it didn't feel like a chore. I took the time to reflect on why I started this blog in the first place, back in 2012. I started this blog because I wanted my own little section on the internet. I wanted a platform where I could be creative and post whatever I wanted. If you know me, then you would know that I have always loved taking pictures and making videos. I may not be a professional but they are my hobbies. This blog was created as an outlet for me to share not only my home life but my hobbies, inspirations, music tastes, fashion, and so much more. Looking back, I haven't been doing much of that. What I am saying is that I am reverting the blog back to its original form. All original content will be coming back including more! I'm bringing back POTW (pictures of the week) posts which were a fan favorite, as well as funny clips, music, favorite youtubers, and more. It's time to make the blog fun again. I am also well aware that Miracle's Hottie of the Week posts are missed... I may bring that back as well but I'm still debating on it. Anyway, itsmiraclewhip.com is here to stay and I will be uploading more frequently. Yall know by now I can't keep a schedule so check back daily for new music, videos, and pictures. Don't worry, I will still have a ton of food and drink posts as well.

I know there are a few kids who like being posted on the blog so if anyone wants to be featured send me an email at mwblog@yahoo.com. Also fan pictures, personal requests, and business inquiries should send emails at mwblog@yahoo.com.

Thank you for sticking around with me and being loyal readers. Cheers to a lit and exciting blog.

My Go-To Makeup Products

Hey everyone! I'm kicking off my summer content by sharing my favorite go-to makeup products. I have only been wearing makeup for a little while so I'm pretty new to it. I must say I am getting pretty good at applying it and finding what works for me.
*Share your favorite makeup items in the comments below*

Click the picture to zoom in

I'm loving Rihanna's Mimosa Sunrise/Sangria Sunset Freestyle Highlighter. She has done an amazing job creating products that look amazing on ALL skin tones. Usually women of color are an after thought for a lot of makeup brands so it's nice to see a line dedicated to everyone. I also really love her Universal Lip Luminizer. It's a basic lip gloss that looks great on anyone. All of her products are good, I recommend checking them out.

My secret to fleeky eyebrows is Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz with Wet n Wild's Mega Clear on top. OMG. Ever since I've been doing this, my brows haven't been the same. They look amazing everytime!!!

The key to amazing lashes would be Tarte's Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara. This mascara will bring your lashes to life with just one coat and I LOVE it!

Kat Von D's 10th Anniversary Metal Crush Highlighter is amazing... HOWEVER...!!!!! It absolutely sucks as an actual highlighter (in my opinion). It is very messy and gets everywhere. One swipe on your cheek and it'll end up all over your face. It's so pretty that I didn't want to take it back so instead I decided to use it as body glitter, which is perfect for this time of year. It looks amazing on my shoulders and décolleté.

Makeup Forever makes some amazing blushes. In my Sephora, I haven't be able to locate the names of these blushes so I'm not sure what this one is called. It's a burnt orange looking color that looks amazing on my skin tone.

I am a BIG fan of Fresh Beauty. I'm currently using a few of their skincare products and I love them. This lip treatment by them is amazing. It's a simple lip balm with a light tint of pink. This product will keep your lips moisturized for hours.

Mary Kay CC Cream is fantastic. This formula is amazing for my skin type which is DRYYYYY and it matches my skin perfectly. I would recommend checking it out if you're not a foundation wearer or just looking for something with light coverage.

These are my favorite go-to makeup products. I don't wear makeup everyday but when I do, it is guaranteed that I'm wearing these products.

Don't forget to share your favorite makeup products in the comments below!
